ℹ Grammar Snapshot • Two Subjects Sharing One Quality
• Two Subjects Joined by "And": When two things share the same quality, join them with and.
• Use "Are" for Two: Because there are now two naming words together, change the linking word from is to are.
Study the Pattern:
1. The apple is round.
2. The orange is round.
One Combined Statement:
"The apple and the orange are round."
Combine the two statements into one complete sentence using "are":

2. Iron and gold:
• Iron is heavy. • Gold is heavy.
3. The dog and the cat:
• The dog is playful. • The cat is playful.
4. Sugar and honey:
• Sugar is sweet. • Honey is sweet.
5. The sun and the star:
• The sun is bright. • The star is bright.
